公園與廣場使人愉悅享受的次要功能
雖然公園與廣場很多時存在公共空間「主要」提供人們愉悅使用的功能，然而次要的功能極度的重要。當公園與廣場的位置存在人們腦中，形成另一層認識，人們在思考一個區域時，自然會浮出這些空間。如果以損益分析來說，公共空間次要的功能往往提供使用者更甚於主要功能的使用。
編按：比如說，雖然華山文創園區的主要功能是文創空間如電影院、展場、文創商品販賣等。然而在華山大草坪與園區內的其他公共空間溜小孩、野餐等，其實才是最多人使用園區的方式。
Secondary Enjoyment of Parks and Plazas
The secondary enjoyment of parks and plazas from the street is extremely important. The sight of the park, the knowledge that it’s there; it becomes part of the image we have of a much wider area. If someone had to make a cost-benefit study, it would show that the secondary use provides as much, or even more, benefits than the primary use.
